Teen arrested on suspicion of assault, hit-and-run, drugs
A 16-year-old girl in a BMW repeatedly rammed a Cadillac as she tried to flee police in Hillsborough Tuesday morning.According to Hillsborough police, a corporal on patrol around 9 a.m. Tuesday came across two teens in a black BMW parked on the wrong side of residential Irwin Court. The young driver started the car and sped off toward Forest View Avenue, breaking the speed limit.
The corporal gave chase and found that the BMW had broadsided a middle-aged woman in a Cadillac at the intersection of Irwin and Forest View, police reported. The collision had left the Cadillac blocking both lanes.
As the corporal watched from his cruiser, the BMW rammed the Cadillac twice more to clear an escape path, then took off southbound on Forest View.
While the corporal helped the driver of the Cadillac, who said she was unhurt, another officer quickly tracked down and stopped the BMW on nearby Floribunda Avenue.
The 16-year-old male passenger was questioned and released, while the female driver was arrested and booked into juvenile hall. She's suspected of reckless driving, hit and run, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of marijuana and assault with a deadly weapon.
