Reps. host town hall meetings

Four town hall meetings this weekend will give Peninsula residents a chance to hear from their representatives in Congress.

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo, will hold two meetings Saturday to report on her first 100 days in office. She won an April special election to succeed Tom Lantos, who died of esophageal cancer in February.

Speier's meetings will take place at 10 a.m. in San Francisco at Glen Park Elementary School, and 1 p.m. in Pacifica at the Sanchez Art Center.

Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, also will hold two public meetings Saturday to report on her work on the House Intelligence Committee and the Energy and Commerce Committee. Topics will include energy independence, global warming, health care and the Iraq war.

Eshoo's town hall meetings will take place at 9 a.m. in Sunnyvale at City Council Chambers, and 1 p.m. in Belmont at City Council Chambers.
