Atherton philanthropist named lifetime board member
Ed Seipp, a retired, 90-year-old Atherton resident and major Bay Area philanthropist, recently was appointed as a lifetime board member by Family Service Agency of San Mateo County's Board of Directors. A member of Family Service's board since 2005, Seipp was selected for the honor due to his outstanding dedication to the nonprofit's mission of helping struggling Peninsula children, families and older adults build positive and productive lives. Family Service's Board of Directors inducted Seipp during the annual meeting in June.
Seipp's notable work for Family Service includes co-chairing its $7.5 million building capital campaign, successfully completed in 2007, and advising the nonprofit on fundraising matters. Along with his wife Anne, a member of Family Service's Valley Auxiliary, Seipp has also hosted numerous fundraising events for the organization.
