Celebrating six decades
Donald and Betty Miller of Sunnyvale will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 18.The couple met at a roller skating rink in San Francisco shortly after Donald was discharged from the U.S. Navy. They were married at a small church on Divisadero Street in San Francisco on Jan. 18, 1948.
The Millers moved to Palo Alto in 1955 where they lived for 43 years. Donald Miller, 80, originally from Fargo, N.D., worked as a sheet metal worker. Betty Miller, 77, who moved to San Francisco when she was 6 months old from Salt Lake City, Utah, worked as a supervisor at a plumbing supply house. They are both retired and in good health.
The couple celebrates their anniversary at a dinner party hosted by their five children. They will renew their vows at a service officiated by their nephew, the Rev. Michael Willingham.
Donald and Betty Miller will have their honeymoon in San Francisco.

- Heather MacDonald and Casey Flanagan of Pacifica welcomed a son, Casey Jordan Flanagan, on Dec. 30, 2007, at Setton Hospital in Daly City.
